Twenty-one years ago, Frears, Hampton and Chéri book got together for another bedroom drama set in France. However, she is stating that it is unforgivable to lose the desire to live. Even her excess weight is favorably suited to the woman into whom she has evolved. What begins as lovemaking quickly becomes love, and they float in a perfumed world of opulent comfort, Lea paying all the bills.

I found nothing to enjoy, indeed I thought it was one of the worst books I have ever read and give it one star - a rating I have never used before. That might not be the most subtle scene Frears has ever shot, but Pfeiffer's expression, wry, exasperated, sad, is the payoff. The characters reveal themselves more by what they leave unsaid then by conversation. I see.
