Thirty years ago, its ancient walls, tombstones, yew hedges, creeping roses and medlar, lilac, apple and mulberry trees became the heart of the Garden Museum, with traditional plantings made in tribute to the great horticulturalists John Tradescant, father and son, who are both buried there.
